microsoft_office_on_windows_8_metro_concept_2_by_metrogt-d5158auToday a weird thing came up while installing Microsoft Office 2010 on a surface tablet that came to our hands.

The Office installer would not proceed from about 60% and the cancelation took over 20 minutes to take place.

It looks like the Print Spooler is causing issues while installing Office 2010 on Windows 8.1 on some devices so the easiest way to go around it is to stop the printer spooler service on the computer.

In order to do that, run services.msc and navigate to Print Spooler, stop the service and the installation should continue normally. This can also be done during the installation of Office.
